3. All participants in Project Divisions must be home schooled. However, all other activities are open to any fair-goer unless otherwise stated.

8. Group Projects. This is defined as one project entry that was worked on by a group. The following rules apply to Group Projects:
  • If you want one (1) ribbon representing the entire group, the fee is 75¢.
  • If you want one (1) ribbon for each child who worked on the group project, the fee is 75¢ per child.
  • Use a separate Project Participation Form for entire group (Separate from individual project forms), listing all students and ages.
  • Group projects will be judged in the age category of oldest participating student.
  • A 'Group' is more than one person, even if all group members are from same family.
9. Project entries that the Home School Fair committees considers to be offensive or in bad taste will not be displayed at the fair. However, a participation ribbon will be given.

15. Walk-up Entries on Fair Day for Spelling Bee and Bible Sword Drill are $1.50 for each event. This is paid at the Admissions table when you first arrive.

Judging.
16. All judges decisions are FINAL.

17. All projects will be judged according to the Danish System of judging, unless otherwise specified.
The Danish system is a method of evaluation where a product or process is evaluated against a set of standards, and recognition is awarded on the degree to which the standard has been met by each competitor. In Danish system judging, the exhibitors are not judged against each other. In a 'true' Danish system the standard of excellence is the same for everyone regardless of age or experience. At the Home School Fair, a 'modified' Danish system is used that uses standards adjusted according to the student's age. The Danish system is used because it is a way to provide recognition to greater numbers of students for their efforts on their projects.

18. Spelling Bee,Bible Sword Drill and Olympics will be judged in the traditional manner (1st place, 2nd place, etc).

19. Judges will set standards for judging, and project will be judged according to criteria, NOT against other students.

20. Students are considered to be ages 4-18 for project entries. Younger children may participate, however, their work will not be judged. They will receive a participation ribbon for their efforts.

21. Talent Showcase is NOT judged.

22. Deadlines for submitting Project Registration, Oylmpics SignUps and Admistration will be strictly enforced. Absolutely no exceptions will be allowed. If a deadline is missed, the student's work will not be judged. They will receive a participation ribbon for their efforts.
